The conditions on Friday night were much better than they were a week ago for the district lid-lifters, allowing for more focus by the players and a lot more points scored by teams throughout the WPIAL. South Fayette enjoyed a breakout season in 2009. They went undefeated in the regular season and captured the Class AA Century Conference championship. However their season came to a bitter end in a wild shootout loss to Aliquippa in the WPIAL Quarterfinals. While most high school spring sports seasons are slowly kicking into gear, the first 'postseason' is already upon us. The field for both the Class AAA and Class AA WPIAL Boys Singles Tennis Championships was determined Friday with the sectional championship and consolation matches.
