The first pitch of the 2011 WPIAL baseball season is set to be tossed on Friday, March 25th. While there were no state champions from the district in 2010, Pine-Richland, Hopewell, Beaver Falls and Serra Catholic now begin defense of their WPIAL titles. At 99 year old Youghiogeny Country Club, the WPIAL Boys Division II Golf Championships were played Wednesday. There were 18 groups that teed off on either the compact front nine or the wide open back nine beginning at 9:00 AM with a total of 56 golfers.Chicks Picks – Week 4 – 2010

Welcome to Week 4 of the high school football season. Chick's Picks made an appearance at MSA Sports World Headquarters last Friday for the first time this season. Much to her surprise, however, she was not missed over the first two weeks. The Ellwood City School Board accepted the resignation of Jason Bumblis on Thursday. Bumblis served the last three seasons at Lincoln High, after coming to Ellwood City from OLSH. The Wolverines were 17-53 in the last three seasons, including 7-15 in 2010, as the Wolverines were alive for a playoff spot until the final day of the regular season.
