The conditions on Friday night were much better than they were a week ago for the district lid-lifters, allowing for more focus by the players and a lot more points scored by teams throughout the WPIAL. South Fayette enjoyed a breakout season in 2009. They went undefeated in the regular season and captured the Class AA Century Conference championship. However their season came to a bitter end in a wild shootout loss to Aliquippa in the WPIAL Quarterfinals. At 99 year old Youghiogeny Country Club, the WPIAL Boys Division II Golf Championships were played Wednesday. There were 18 groups that teed off on either the compact front nine or the wide open back nine beginning at 9:00 AM with a total of 56 golfers.
