We start this edition of College Preview with heavy hearts with word of the death of W & J running back Tim McNerney early Thursday morning. A busy week in district college football as the PSAC took a break from divisional games for crossover action, the PAC saw some wild finishes and Saint Francis and Duquesne met for the 99th time in the NEC.Here are recaps of all the games played Saturday:Kutztown 56 - Slippery Rock 49 SRU lost it's 2nd straight game, fumbling 5 times, which led to 28 Kutztown points and a victory for the Golden Bears at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium on Saturday night. QB Nigel Barksdale made his first career start and figured in on 5 Rock touchdowns in the loss. Week 2 saw some offensive showdowns in PSAC crossover games as teams get ready for divisional play next week.California took on their second ranked opponent of the season and the biggest question, will the Lock Haven losing streak ever end. Details follow, with recaps of all the games:Shippensburg 55 - Slippery Rock 35 Zach Zulli threw four touchdown passes, three coming in the final 4:30 of the second quarter, he also caught a td pass as the Red Raiders cruised to the crossover win at Seth Grove Stadium. With storms throughout the Western Pennsylvania area, the district College Football season kicked off with a bang with several great games. The PSAC title was determined, the race in the Northeast Conference is winding down and an upset of the number one team in Division I FCS play highlighted the weekend of college football around the area. Two conference titles could be decided on Saturday as Slippery Rock tries to sew up the PSAC West crown while Westminster tries to knock off three time champion Thomas More. The Coal Bowl takes places as well between Cal and IUP with the loser being knocked out of playoff contention.
