The only WPIAL boys soccer team to make it to the PIAA finals has returned home with a state championship. The Hampton Talbots outlasted District 12 champion Archbishop Wood Friday night to win the schools second boys soccer state crown. One golden retriever and two silver linings, that is what WPIAL girls soccer teams had to show for championship weekend at Hersheypark Stadium. Running for 4,000 career yards isn't as rare as it used to be. Forty-seven players have done it in WPIAL history, and 40 of them have reached the mark since 1990.
