One golden retriever and two silver linings, that is what WPIAL girls soccer teams had to show for championship weekend at Hersheypark Stadium. Running for 4,000 career yards isn't as rare as it used to be. Forty-seven players have done it in WPIAL history, and 40 of them have reached the mark since 1990. A pair of WPIAL duo's made it to the Semifinals in the 2010 PIAA Girls Doubles Tennis Championships this weekend in Hershey, one in Class AAA and one in Class AA. The North Allegheny team of Lylie Isaacs and Mikayla Becich had to settle for silver after they advanced to the finals Saturday afternoon only to lose in two sets.Mars Remains Perfect With WPIAL Girls AA Soccer Championship
The Planets capped off a perfect run through the WPIAL season with a 2-0 win over Beaver Saturday at Baldwin High School. Last week, Shady Side Academy edged Mount Lebanon to win the 2010 WPIAL Girls Team Tennis Class AAA Championship. One week later, history has repeated itself in the 2010 PIAA Girls Team Tennis Finals.
