The number of WPIAL playoff spots available is shrinking fast after Friday nights high school football action. There are only four WPIAL games on Saturday, all of which have some sort of playoff implication. Seven games were played under more fall like conditions as Week Four came to an end on Saturday. Sunny skies and comfortable temperatures greeted players from 14 WPIAL and 2 Pittsburgh City League teams in the afternoon while pleasant conditions were the backdrop for the lone evening contest. Two of the four playoff teams from the WPIAL Class A Big Seven Conference in 2009 are no longer in the conference, with Monaca ending their program and Laurel moving up to the Class AA Midwestern Conference. The conference will be wide open for playoff spots, but one thing remains the same, Rochester is always a favorite to head to the playoffs and Heinz Field.
