32 have exited the Highway to Heinz while 32 others are rambling on toward the round two exit. There were very few surprises in the First Round as only four double-digit seeds were victorious. #10 Hopewell in Class AAA, #13 Ellwood City in AA and a pair of #11-seeds - South Fayette in AA and Fort Cherry in A were able to keep their long-shot title hopes alive through the opening weekend.Friday Night HighLights – 11/05/2011

The spotlight always shines brighter in the WPIAL Playoffs. The pressure and the expectations mount in this lose and go home format. Thus when players get it done in Primetime, they earn another chance to shine on an even bigger stage the following week as the postseason field continues to shrink.
