Mount Lebanon and Jeannette entered championship weekend searching for more gold. The Blue Devils won WPIAL AAAA crowns in 2009 and 2010 while the Jayhawks captured AA gold last winter. The recruiting fall out of Dave Wannstedt leaving as Pitt head coach last month continued when Woodland Hills High School running back/defensive back Lafayette Pitts made a verbal commitment to Rutgers. One of the top high school football seniors in the WPIAL has determined that Price is right for Ohio State. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Woodland Hills linebacker Ejuan Price has made a verbal commitment to Ohio State University. Eight teams showed up on the North Shore on Saturday with a job to get done. There were four WPIAL football titles up for grabs as each team had the thirst to be number one.
