2011 has been a tremendous year in high school sports in the WPIAL. It was a year where some familiar champions wore the golden crown again while some new faces surfaced in the championship picture. The brackets are out for the 2011 WPIAL Girls Soccer Playoffs that begin on Saturday, October 22nd and continue through to the finals on Supper Soccer Saturday on 11/5/11. South Fayette enjoyed a breakout season in 2009. They went undefeated in the regular season and captured the Class AA Century Conference championship. However their season came to a bitter end in a wild shootout loss to Aliquippa in the WPIAL Quarterfinals. This year MSA Sports is debuting the "Sweet 16" Softball Program. 16 of the most successful WPIAL Girls Softball programs have committed to joining together to help promote and increase recognition for one of the most exciting interscholastic sports that we have in western Pennsylvania.
