The February Frenzy is already living up to its name as half of the six classifications have a new top-ranked team in the latest weekly edition of the Trib HSSN state Top 5 girls basketball rankings.

While No. 1 teams from last week Cardinal O’Hara in 5A, Villa Maria Academy in 4A and Union in A were able to hold on to their top spots, North Allegheny, Bloomsburg and Mount Carmel were not so fortunate.

North Allegheny lost to Norwin, allowing undefeated Plymouth-Whitemarsh a chance to take the top spot in Class 6A.

Central Columbia knocked off Bloomsburg, knocking the Panthers from No. 1 and opening the door for undefeated Fairview to be the new No. 1.

In Class 2A, Southern Columbia defeated Mt. Carmel in a battle of District 4 rivals, allowing the Tigers to leap from over the Red Tornadoes to the top spot.
