Player of the week

John Wetzel

Latrobe, Jr., QB/FS

The 6-foot-2 quarterback had a fantasy football game to remember. He rushed for 142 yards and scored four touchdowns and completed 9 of 12 passes for 241 yards and two scores against Connellsville. Wetzel has thrown for 1,073 yards and 14 touchdowns and rushed for 525 yards and 10 scores this season.

Players to watch

Wyatt Richter

Southmoreland, Sr., WR/DB

The senior has 21 tackles, four interceptions and a fumble recovery for the Scotties. He also has 10 catches, three for touchdowns, for 170 yards.

Matt Sarnowski

Penn-Trafford, Sr. T/DE

The 6-foot-4 senior is a two-way starter for the Warriors. He plays tackle on offense and helps pave the way for the team’s strong running game. Coach John Ruane said he’s a very consistent player. He’s also had two tackles for losses and two quarterback sacks.

Chase Lemke

Franklin Regional, Jr., QB/DB

The 5-foot-10, 154-pound junior has come on strong for the Panthers. He has completed 63 of 114 passes for 1,095 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also has rushed for 227 yards and three scores.
