Westmoreland County players to watch for Week 8

Nick DiAndreth

Hempfield, sr., WR

The senior had two touchdown grabs in Hempfield’s near upset of Penn Hills last week. DiAndreth (5-6, 162) has 23 receptions for 473 yards and has scored seven touchdowns so far this season.

Seth Howard

Jeannette, jr., WR

A slick junior wide receiver, Howard (5-11, 150) tossed a touchdown pass and ran for two scores in helping Jeannette defeat rival Greensburg Central Catholic, 55-7, last week in the Class A Eastern Conference.

Mason Pascoe

Belle Vernon, jr., RB

The Leopards junior raced 52 yards for a touchdown and finished with 98 yards as Belle Vernon upset No. 1 Thomas Jefferson in the Big 9 last week. Pascoe (5-7, 155) is Belle Vernon’s leading rusher with 563 yards.

Jacob Shedd

Franklin Regional, sr. TE

A lanky senior, Shedd (6-5, 181) caught two touchdown passes in the first half to help Franklin Regional defeat Latrobe last Friday night and clinch a berth in the upcoming WPIAL Class 5A playoffs.
