MONDAY

Boys soccer

Two of the top Section 3-AAAA teams will square off in North Huntingdon as Norwin hosts No. 4 Connellsville.

Another local game of note is Southmoreland at Derry.

Girls soccer

Connellsville was one of the teams Penn-Trafford anticipated could pose a threat in Section 3-AAAA, and the Warriors will host the Falcons.

Franklin Regional visits No. 1 Mars in Section 1-AAA, Belle Vernon is at Greensburg Salem in Section 2-AAA and Mt. Pleasant goes to No. 2 Waynesburg in Section 3-AA.

Golf

WPIAL section tournament wil begin around the district as the individual postseason gets underway.

TUESDAY

Boys soccer

Third-ranked Greensburg Central Catholic waited an entire offseason to see No. 2 Winchester Thurston again. After three, one-goal losses to the Bears last season, including a 2-1 defeat in the playoffs, the Centurions get another shot in Carbon in Section 2-A.

Other top games include Plum at Hempfield (3-AAA), Belle Vernon at Greensburg Salem (3-AAA) and No. 3 Mt. Pleasant at No. 4 Deer Lakes (2-AA).

WPIAL section tournaments continue.

WEDNESDAY

Girls soccer

Penn-Trafford at Latrobe is a game to watch in Section 3-AAAA.

WPIAL indidivual sectional qualifiers continue.

THURSDAY

Boys soccer

Heated rivals Norwin and Penn-Trafford will play the first of two Section 3-4A meetings, in Harrison City. Another game from that section has Hempfield at Latrobe.

Section 2-AA features Derry at Mt. Pleasant.

Girls tennis

The top finishers from section tournaments will open the WPIAL singles tournaments.

Girls volleyball

No. 3 ranked Greensburg Central Catholic hosts No. 10 Leechburg in Section 4-A. Greensburg Salem, meantime, will look for an upset when it hosts No. 3 Armstrong in Section 1-AAA.

Norwin is at Latrobe in Section 3-AAAA.

Golf

WPIAL section tournaments conclude around the district.

FRIDAY

Football

Class 3A No. 4-ranked Derry continues to roll, and the Trojans have been especially strong at home. They will face a test when No. 2 North Catholic comes to town.

Some of the other top local games include 6A No. 1 Pine-Richland at Norwin, Laurel Highlands at Greensburg Salem, Burrell at Yough, Class A No. 2 Imani Christian at Greensburg Central Catholic, Springdale at Class A No. 1 Jeannette and Shaler at Franklin Regional.

Girls tennis

The WPIAL singles championships continue at North Allegheny and Shady Side Academy.

SATURDAY

Boys soccer

Ringgold at Belle Vernon (3-AAA) and Greensburg CC at Serra (2-A) are top area games.

Girls soccer

No. 5 Springdale at No. 3 Greensburg Central (Section 1-A), Belle Vernon at Waynesburg and Connellsville at Greensburg Salem are matchups to watch.
