The Road to Hershey takes a break between the PIAA basketball second round and the quarterfinals, but there are still big things happening on the ice and in the pool Thursday.

The high school hockey playoffs continue at the Robert Morris University Sports Center on Neville Island on Thursday with the final night of the PIHL semifinals.

The top four seeds were all winners in the quarterfinals, setting them up to square off in the Division 2 final four.

In the first game, top-seeded Morgantown (18-1-2-0) will be challenged by No. 4 Neshannock (13-3-2-2) at 6:45 p.m.

That will be followed by an A-K Valley showdown when No. 2 Burrell (16-2-2-1) battles No. 3 Deer Lakes (15-4-1-1) at 8:45 p.m.

Both games can be seen here on Trib HSSN.

The Mohigans and Lancers played once this season and it was a dandy with Morgantown edging Neshannock in a shootout, 4-3.

This is the fourth meeting of the year between the Buccaneers and Lancers.

Burrell won on Oct. 14, 3-1, Deer Lakes was a winner three weeks later on Nov. 4, 4-1, and the Bucs were triumphant in the regular season rubber game on Feb. 6, 2-1.

In the D-2 quarterfinals, Morgantown blanked Gateway, 11-0, and Neshannock got by Connellsville, 4-3.

Also, Burrell rolled past Elizabeth Forward, 7-3, and Deer Lakes defeated Carrick, 7-2.

PIAA pool action, Day 2

Thursday is the second and final day of the PIAA Class 2A swimming championships.

The event is taking place at Bucknell University.

The top 3A swimmers and divers will be in action Friday and Saturday.
