WPIAL Class 2A football roundup: Steve Vandiver throws 4 TD passes as No. 4 Imani Christian rolls past Apollo-Ridge

Steve Vandiver threw for 252 yards and four touchdowns to lead No. 4 Imani Christian to a 60-13 victory against Apollo-Ridge (1-6, 0-4) in the Class 2A Century Conference on Friday night.

Dayshaun Burnett caught three passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns, ran for 53 yards and a TD and returned a fumble 64 yards for another score. Chevon Allen added three receptions for 117 yards and two touchdowns for the Saints (4-2, 2-1).

Karter Schrock ran for a 1-yard TD and 67-yard TD for the Vikings.

Steel Valley 38, Derry 0 — Donald Barksdale ran for two touchdowns as No. 2 Steel Valley (5-1, 4-0) shut out Derry (3-4, 2-2) in Allegheny Conference play.

McGuffey 41, Charleroi 7 — In Century Conference play, Malachi Ealy and Charles Wagers scored two touchdowns each as McGuffey (5-2, 4-0) beat Charleroi (0-6, 0-3).

Washington 43, Sto-Rox 8 — Top-ranked Washington (7-0, 3-0) held Sto-Rox (1-5, 1-3) to 39 yards of offense and two first downs in its Century Conference win. Jahvon Woods scored on a 37-yard fumble return for Washington, which led 36-0 at halftime.

Waynesburg Central 48, Brentwood 14 — Breydon Woods ran for 138 yards and four touchdowns and caught three passes for 78 yards and a TD to lead Waynesburg Central (5-2, 2-2) to the Century Conference win at Brentwood (0-7, 0-3). Jacob Stephenson threw for 126 yards and a touchdown for the Raiders.

Ellwood City 62, New Brighton 40 — Elijah Palmer-McCane ran for 286 yards and four touchdowns and caught a 55-yard pass from Chris Smiley for another score to lead Ellwood City (4-3, 2-2) over New Brighton (0-7, 0-4) in Midwestern Athletic Conference play. Smiley threw for 275 yards and five touchdowns. New Brighton’s Brian Taylor threw for 297 yards and three touchdowns to Michael Veon, who caught nine passes for 244 yards and added a rushing TD.

Mohawk 21, Beaver Falls 12 — Jay Wrona threw for 205 yards and two TDs and added a rushing touchdown in No. 5 Mohawk’s Midwestern Athletic Conference win over Beaver Falls (3-4, 2-2). Dante Retort caught two passes for 124 yards and a 92-yard touchdown for Mohawk (6-1, 4-0).

Neshannock 35, Freedom 0 — Anthony Bonner caught six passes for 79 yards and two touchdowns and scored on a 62-yard punt return as No. 3 Neshannock (6-1, 4-0) shut out Freedom (2-5, 1-3) in the Midwestern Athletic Conference. Neshannock’s Jino Mozzocio threw for 76 yards and a touchdown and ran for 84 yards.

Keystone Oaks 26, Hopewell 8 — Dimajio Locante ran for 137 yards and a touchdown to lead Class 2A Keystone Oaks (4-3) to victory over Class 3A Hopewell (1-6).
