WPIAL Class 6A, 5A football roundup: Top-ranked Central Catholic tops Penn Hills

Payton Wehner threw for 276 yards and three touchdowns as Class 6A No. 1 Central Catholic earned a 45-12 victory over Class 5A No. 2 Penn Hills (6-2) in a nonconference football game Friday night.
Elijah Faulker added 146 rushing yards and three touchdowns for the Vikings (7-1). Julian Dugger paced Penn Hills with 162 passing yards and two touchdowns and 92 rushing yards.
South Fayette 28, Baldwin 14 — Nico Lamonde threw for 102 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 130 yards to lead South Fayette (4-4, 1-2) to the Allegheny Six win over Baldwin (1-6, 0-4). Talan Mizenko added 128 rushing yards and a touchdown for South Fayette.
Pine-Richland 38, Shaler 14 — In the Northeast Conference, Ethan Pillar ran for three first-half touchdowns as No. 3 Pine-Richland (5-3, 2-1) defeated Shaler (4-4, 0-3). Keegan Smetanka tossed for 194 yards and two touchdowns for Shaler.
Woodland Hills 42, Fox Chapel 7 — Zykir Moore ran 140 yards and three touchdowns as No. 4 Woodland Hills (6-2, 3-0) defeated Fox Chapel (0-8, 0-4) in Northeast Conference play. Cam Walter added 142 passing yards and three touchdowns for the Wolverines. Adrian Valdez scored on a 3-yard run for the Foxes.
Cathedral Prep 54, Butler 7 — Dajoure Hollingsworth ran for 173 yards and three touchdowns as Cathedral Prep (4-3) downed Butler (2-6) in nonconference play. Luke Costello threw for 141 yards and two touchdowns for Cathedral Prep.
North Allegheny 53, Norwin 25 — Khiryn Boyd returned the opening kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown and added a 7-yard scoring run in Class 6A No. 2 North Allegheny’s 37-point first quarter as it defeated Class 5A Norwin (2-6). Logan Kushner threw for one touchdown and ran for another for North Allegheny (7-1). Tristyn Tavares threw three Norwin touchdowns.
Peters Township 42, Mt. Lebanon 0 — Nolan DiLucia threw for 261 yards and two touchdowns to lead Class 5A No. 1 Peters Township (8-0) to victory over Class 6A No. 4 Mt. Lebanon (4-4).
Seneca Valley 46, North Hills 25 — Kai West ran for 196 yards and two touchdowns while Sean O’Shea added 167 rushing yards and two TDs as Class 6A No. 5 Seneca Valley (3-5) defeated Class 5A North Hills (3-5). Connor Davis threw for 126 yards and two touchdowns and ran for a TD for North Hills.
Upper St. Clair 24, Canon-McMillan 17 — Ethan Hellmann threw for one touchdown and ran for two more as Class 5A Upper St. Clair (6-2) rallied to defeat Class 6A No. 3 Canon-McMillan (5-3). Upper St. Clair trailed heading into the fourth quarter, 17-3. Mason Chambers ran for 77 yards for Upper St. Clair. Zachary Welsh rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown for Canon-McMillan.
City League
University Prep 8, Allderdice 0 — Emory Arrington caught a 21-yard TD pass as University Prep (6-2, 3-1) defeated Allderdice (1-7, 1-3) in City League play. Jaden Duckett intercepted four passes for the Wildcats, who secured the No. 2 seed for the City League playoffs.
