WPIAL Class 6A, 5A roundup: Daniels leads Mt. Lebanon past Canon-McMillan

Joey Daniels threw for 187 yards and four touchdowns as No. 5 Mt. Lebanon earned a 49-21 win over Canon-McMillan (0-2, 0-1) in a Class 6A football game Friday night.

Evan Jones and Sam LaSota caught two scoring passes each for the Blue Devils (1-1, 1-0). Jon Quinque threw for 201 yards and two touchdowns for Canon-McMillan.

Class 5A

McKeesport 52, Connellsville 0 — Devari Robinson rushed for five touchdowns and threw for another as McKeesport (2-0, 1-0) scored 40 first-half points in its Big East shutout at Connellsville (1-1, 0-1).

Hampton 30, Armstrong 12 — Luke Lindgren ran for 107 yards and a touchdown while teammate Ian Andersson rushed for 102 yards and another TD as Hampton (1-1, 1-0) beat Armstrong (1-1, 0-1) in the Northern Conference. Cole Brown threw for 165 yards and a touchdown and ran for a TD in the loss.

Albert Gallatin 41, Carrick 20 — Malik Kirby ran for 118 yards and two touchdowns to lead Albert Gallatin (1-0) to a nonconference win against Carrick (0-2). Tay’ron Ross rushed for 116 yards in the loss.

Baldwin 42, Butler 21 — Angelo Priore ran for 241 yards and four touchdowns on just seven carries as Class 5A Baldwin (1-1) beat Class 6A Butler (0-2). Colton Brain added 121 passing yards and two touchdowns for Baldwin, which gained 473 yards of offense. Cooper Baxter threw for 104 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 146 yards and a TD in the loss.

Moon 36, Mars 14 — Dawson Snyder caught six passes for 130 yards and a touchdown and returned an interception 88 yards for another score as Moon (2-0) bear Mars (1-1) in nonconference play. Dante Clay threw for 170 yards and a touchdown for Moon. Teddy Ruffner paced Mars’ offense with 145 rushing yards and two TDs.

Penn Hills 41, Latrobe 14 — Eddie McKissick threw for 104 yards and three touchdowns to lead Class 5A No. 4 Penn Hills (1-1) to a nonconference win at Latrobe (1-1). Germar Howard ran for 112 yards and a 92-yard touchdown in the win.
