WPIAL sets championship, consolation schedule for 2024 baseball playoffs

The WPIAL has set its championship and consolation schedule for the baseball playoffs with games May 28-29 in Washington.

The finals are played at Wild Things Park and the third-place games are next door at Washington & Jefferson’s Ross Memorial Park.

The six-game championship schedule starts with the Class A final at 1 p.m. Tuesday, followed by 3A at 4 p.m. and 5A at 7 p.m. The next day’s schedule includes Class 2A at 1 p.m., 4A at 4 p.m. and 6A at 7 p.m.

Eleven of the 12 finalists are already decided. The last finalist will be determined at 6 p.m. Wednesday when West Allegheny (16-3) and Bethel Park (14-6) meet in a Class 5A semifinal at Ross Memorial Park.

Penn-Trafford (18-3) vs. West Allegheny/Bethel Park winner at Wild Things Park, 7 p.m. May 28

Third place

Franklin Regional (14-8) vs. West Allegheny/Bethel Park loser at Ross Memorial Park, 6:30 p.m. May 29

Class 4A

Championship

Indiana (13-9) vs. North Catholic (16-4) at Wild Things Park, 4 p.m. May 29

Third place

Montour (15-6) vs. Thomas Jefferson (19-3) at Ross Memorial Park, 6 p.m. May 28

Class 3A

Championship

Riverside (16-1) vs. Avonworth (15-8) at Wild Things Park, 4 p.m. May 28

Third place

South Allegheny (17-5) vs. Burrell (11-8) at Ross Memorial Park, 1 p.m. May 28

Class 2A

Championship

Serra Catholic (17-1) vs. Seton LaSalle (16-3) at Wild Things Park, 1 p.m. May 29

Third place

Burgettstown (13-4) vs. Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (17-5) at Ross Memorial Park, 3:30 p.m. May 28

Bishop Canevin (14-4) vs. Eden Christian (16-4) at Wild Things Park, 1 p.m. May 28

Carmichaels (13-5) vs. Avella (11-6) at Ross Memorial Park, 4 p.m. May 29
