While a majority of the Final Four softball games in the 2011 WPIAL Softball Playoffs will take place Thursday, three tickets reserved their spots in the finals at Cal U on Wednesday. 10th-seed Seneca Valley continues its surprise run in Class AAAA and Latrobe took care of Quad A top-seed Shaler in extra innings, while the top-seed in Class A rolled on to the finals in convincing fashion. Here are the recaps from all three WPIAL Semifinals Softball games played Wednesday afternoon.

Thanks to Jonathan Whaley and Bob Gregg for their help on these recaps.

WPIAL CLASS AAAA SEMIFINALS:

Latrobe Wildcats 4 – Shaler Titans 3 in 8 Innings
The first WPIAL Class AAAA semifinal game at Woodland Hills High School on Wednesday afternoon was a rematch of one of last season's AAAA semifinals as the number 1 seeded Shaler Area Titans faced the number 5 seeded Greater Latrobe Wildcats.
