2012 WPIAL FOOTBALL FINAL PLAYOFF PICTURE

The MSA Sports 'Stretch Run' to the 2012 WPIAL football regular season is nearly in the books. All the 64 playoff spots have been secured with the order in all 14 conferences now determined and finalized. Here is the break down and the final order of the playoff teams in each conference.

Conference records are in parenthesis.

WPIAL CLASS AAAA Northern Eight Conference:

* North Allegheny Tigers (7-0) have clinched the conference championship, a First Round home playoff game and the #1 spot

* Seneca Valley Raiders (6-1) have clinched a First Round home playoff game and the #2 spot

* Pittsburgh Central Catholic Vikings (5-2) have the #3 spot

* North Hills Indians (4-3) have the #4 spot

* Butler Golden Tornado (3-4) have the #5 spot

WPIAL CLASS AAAA Southeastern Conference:

* Upper St. Clair Panthers (7-1) have clinched a share of the conference championship, a First Round home playoff game and the #1 spot based on head-to-head over Mount Lebanon

* Mount Lebanon Blue Devils (7-1) have clinched a share of the conference championship, a First Round home playoff game and the #2 spot

* Woodland Hills Wolverines (6-2) have clinched a First Round home playoff game and the #3 spot based on head-to-head over Bethel Park

* Bethel Park Black Hawks (6-2) have the #4 spot

* Peters Township Indians (4-4) have the #5 spot

WPIAL CLASS AAAA Foothills Conference:

* Gateway Gators (8-0) have clinched the conference championship, a First Round home playoff game and the #1 spot

* Penn-Trafford Warriors (7-1) have clinched a First Round home playoff game and the #2 spot

* McKeesport Tigers (5-3) have clinched a First Round home playoff game and the #3 spot

* Hempfield Spartans (4-4) have the #4 spot based on tiebreaker points over both Kiski Area and Altoona (Hempfield +13, Altoona +5, Kiski Area -5)

* Kiski Area Cavaliers (4-4) have the #5 spot based on head-to-head over Altoona

* Altoona Mountain Lions (4-4) are the WILD CARD based on better record than the two other sixth place teams, Penn Hills (3-5) and Pine-Richland (2-5)

WPIAL CLASS AAA Big Nine Conference:

* Thomas Jefferson Jaguars (8-0) have clinched the conference championship, a First Round home playoff game and the #1 spot

* West Mifflin Titans (7-1) have clinched a First Round home playoff game and the #2 spot

* Trinity Hillers (5-3) have the #3 spot based on head-to-head with Elizabeth Forward

* Elizabeth Forward Warriors (5-3) have the #4 spot

* Ringgold Rams (4-4) have the #5 spot based on head-to-head with Belle Vernon

* Belle Vernon Leopards (4-4) are the WILD CARD team based on a better record than the two other six place teams, Ambridge (3-5) and Highlands (3-5)

WPIAL CLASS AAA Parkway Conference:

* Central Valley Warriors (7-1) have clinched a share of the conference championship, a First Round home playoff game and the #1 spot based on tiebreaker points Central Valley +69, Montour +54, West Allegheny +43

* West Allegheny Indians (7-1) have clinched a First Round home playoff game and the #2 spot based on head-to-head with Montour

* Montour Spartans (7-1) have clinched a First Round home playoff game and the #3 spot

* Hopewell Vikings (4-4) have the #4 spot

* Blackhawk Cougars (3-5) have the #5 spot based on tiebreaker points over Ambridge and New Castle (Blackhawk -5, Ambridge -14, New Castle -20)

WPIAL CLASS AAA Greater Allegheny Conference:

* Mars Fighting Planets (7-1) have clinched the conference championship, a First Round home playoff game and the #1 spot

* Hampton Talbots (6-2) have clinched a First Round home playoff game and the #2 spot based on head-to-head wins over Franklin Regional and Knoch

* Franklin Regional Panthers (6-2) have clinched a First Round home playoff game and the #3 spot based on head-to-head win over Knoch

* Knoch Knights (6-2) have clinched the #4 spot

* Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers (3-5) have clinched the #5 spots based on tiebreaker points over Highlands and Indiana (Hollidaysburg -17, Highlands -17, Indiana -26). Hollidaysburg then wins head-to-head with Highlands

WPIAL CLASS AA Midwestern Conference:

* Aliquippa Quips (7-0) have clinched the conference championship, a First Round home playoff game and the #1 spot

* Beaver Bobcats (6-1) have clinched First Round home playoff game and the #2 spot

* Beaver Falls Tigers (5-2) have clinched the #3 spot

* Freedom Bulldogs (3-4) have clinched the #4 spot based on head-to-head win over New Brighton

WPIAL CLASS AA Century Conference:

* South Fayette Lions (8-0) have clinched the conference championship, a First Round home playoff game and the #1 spot

* Seton-LaSalle Rebels (7-1) have clinched a First Round home playoff game and the #2 spot

* South Allegheny Gladiators (6-2) have clinched the #3 spot

* Steel Valley Ironmen (4-4) have clinched the #4 spot

WPIAL CLASS AA Interstate Conference:

* Washington Little Prexies (8-0) have clinched the conference championship, a First Round home playoff game and the #1 spot

* Jeannette Jayhawks (7-1) have clinched a First Round home playoff game and the #2 spot

* Greensburg Central Catholic Centurions (6-2) have clinched the #4 spot

* Burrell Buccaneers (7-1) have clinched a share of the conference championship, a First Round home game and the #2 spot

* Shady Side Academy Indians (6-2) have clinched the #3 spot based on head-to-head over Valley

* Rochester Rams (7-1) have clinched a share of the conference championship, a First Round home playoff game and the #2 spot based on head-to-head over Neshannock

* Neshannock Lancers (7-1) have clinched a share of the conference championship and the #3 spot

* Union Scotties (5-3) have clinched the #4 spot
