District College Football Recap for Saturday, November 7th

Week 10 of the college football slate saw both the PAC and PSAC West titles decided and Duquesne move into sole possession of first in the NEC.
Here are recaps of ALL THE GAMES:
Thomas More 36 – Case Western Reserve 32
In a battle of ranked teams for the PAC title, the #12 Saints used a defensive conversion by kyle Fuller and a luke Zajac 1 yard run to beat the #18 Spartans. Thomas More is 10-0 overall and win the conference with an 8-0 record.
QB Jensen Gebhardt returned for the Saints and threw for 223 yards and 2 scores, he ran for one. Tyler Vogelpohl had 6 catches for 108 yards, Goose Cohorn had 6 grabs for 104, each had a score. Hjavier Pitts also ran for a td.
QB Rob Cuda both ran and threw for a score. Adam Hochman also ran for a score, Ben Carniol kicked 4 field goals for the Spartans, now 7-2 overall and 6-1 in the PAC.
Carnegie Mellon 52 – Chicago 7
After putting up 73 points last week against Thiel, the Tartans lit up the scoreboard against their old UAA foe.
Sam Benger ran 23 times for 207 yards and a pair of scores, he also caught a td pass. Andrew Hearon was 13-16 for 261 yards and 4 td’s.
CMU scored 38 straight points after Burke Moser’s td pass to Jaime Moser for 17 yards in the second. Both teams are 6-3 overall.
Saint Vincent 34 – Geneva 27
Shavonta Craft(Jeannette) scored his second touchdown with 5:53 left in regulation to give the Bearcats the victory.
Saint Vincent led 14-0 after one on two tyler Donahue td runs of 23 yards each. Javid Ellis brought Geneva back with scoring strikes of 4 yards to Colton Booher and 44 yards to Devin Kelosky(Riverside). Saint Vincent was able to score late in the half on a Donahue 2 yard td pass to Damon Black.
Ellis tied the game at 20 in the third on a 27 yard scamper. Craft gave Saint Vincent back the lead on a 1 yard run, capping an 11 play drive. Aaron Channing came on at QB for Geneva and hit Nick Cook for a 18 yard touchdown, but Craft put the Bearcats up for good 76 seconds later.
Channing led Geneva to the Saint Vincent 39 but turned the ball over on downs. Craft was able to run out the clock and Saint Vincent gets the home win. Donahue carried 24 times for 135 yards. Craft ran 16 times for 89 yards. Saint Vincent is 4-5 overall and 3-4 in the PAC.
Ellis ran 25 times for 108 yards, he threw for 190 on 13-28. Channing was 9-13 in the fourth. Cook had 7 catches for 109 yards. Geneva is 2-7 overall and 1-6 in the PAC.
W & J 65 – Thiel 28
The Presidents jumped out to a 28-0 first quarter lead and never looked back. W&J racked up 38 first downs and 756 yards of offense to go to 7-2 overall.
Pete Coughlin(USC) threw for 363 yards and 4 touchdowns. Jesse Zubik(Avonworth) 8 catches for 167 yards and a pair of scores. Ryan Ruffing ran 18 times for 132 yards and 4 td’s, the senior from Thomas Jefferson has 21 scores on the year. W&J goes to 5-2 in the PAC.
Ryan Radke was the offense for Thiel, running for 149 yards and 3 td’s, he threw for 223 yards and a score. Thiel falls to 1-8 overall and 0-7 in the PAC.
Westminster 45 – Grove City 7
The titans continue their winning ways, going to 7-2 overall with the short road win. Paul Columbo ran for 3 scores, including a 67 yard run in the opening quarter.
Columbo ran for 72 yards and threw for 134 in the win as Westminster goes to 6-1 in the PAC. Dominique McKinley(Greenburg Salem0 ran 21 times for 107 yards and a score.
The Wolverines committed 5 turnovers as they fall to 0-9 overall. Caleb Jakiel(Moon) had a day he would like to forget, going 4-30 in the air with 4 interceptions. Grove City is 0-7 in PAC play.
Slippery Rock 65 – Clarion 13
#10 SRU cemented it’s place in next week’s PSAC State Title game with the blowout win and handed Clarion a third straight loss. The Rock scored 41 consecutive points over a 23 minute stretch to finish 6-1 in the West Division.
Slippery Rock travels to West Chester next week, the Rock is making their third straight title game appearance and looks to claim back to back titles.
Jaimire Dutrieuille scored twice, including a 91 yard punt return. Titus howard(Clarton) had a Pick 6 and Julian Durden(Montour) added 2 scores. SRU ran 65 times for 308 yards. Dante Nania(Hempfield) was only 9-19 passing but threw for 3 scores. Cornelius Raye caught 2 td passes. SRU is 9-1 overall.
Connor Simmons was 16-40 passing for Clarion, he threw for 213 yards and 2 scores. The Golden Eagles fall to 7-3 overall and 4-3 in the West.
IUP 26 – Gannon 14
Lenny Williams(Sto-Rox) sealed the win with a 64 yard scoring run in the fourth as IUP finishes 6-1 in the PSAC West. Williams ran for 140 yards on 15 carries, Chris Temple added 147 yards on 32 totes. Williams was 9-18 for 124 yards passing with a score. IUP is 7-2 overall.
Gannon was held to 225 yards of offense. The Golden Knights are 6-4 overall and finish 3-4 overall after being picked to win the West in a preseason vote.
California 31 – Mercyhurst 21
John Franklin ran for 74 yards and 2 scores as Cal U finishes 5-2 in the West. QB James Harris was 13-16 for 316 yards and 2 td’s in the win.
Cal led 10-0 after one on a 75 yard td pass from Harris to Luke Smorey and a William Brazill field goal. Franklin scored on a 1 yard run in the second.
The Lakers got on the board on a Zach Emerick 8 yard td pass to John Matarazzo(New Castle). Harris hit Garry Brown for a 2 yard td and a 24-7 lead after three. Logan Weaver came on at QB for the Lakers and found Jaquan Williams for 15 yards and a score. Franklin scored on a 5 yard run, Drew Robinson(Union) finished the scoring with a 4 yard run.
Brown had 6 catches for 155 yards for Cal, now 7-3. Brandon Brown-Dukes ran 28 times for 116 yards for the Lakers, now 5-5 overall and finish 3-4 in the West.
Seton Hill 44 – Edinboro 23
Dan Pietrangelo ran for a score and threw for 3 as the Griffins get the home win. Pietrangelo was 35-48 for 399 yards. Ardell Brown had 9 catches for 137 yards and a score. Seton Hill finishes 2-5 in the West and goes to 3-7 overall.
Alex Caratelli had 13 catches and Darren Massey 11 for Edinboro, now 0-10. Both had a touchdown. The Fighting Scots finish 0-7 in the West.
Duquesne 41 – Sacred Heart 14
The Dukes led 28-0 in the second quarter and never looked back as Duquesne is now 4-1 in the NEC. Dillon Buechel(Montour) threw for 320 yards and 2 td’s. The defense scored on a fumble recovery and a Pick 6. Rafiq Douglas ran for a td. Chris King had 9 catches for 111 yards, Wayne Capers(Char Valley) made 6 grabs for 144 yards. Duquesne is 7-3 overall.
RJ Noel threw for 236 yards and 2 td’s for the Pioneers, now 4-5 overall and 1-3 in the NEC.
Saint Francis 22 – Central Connecticut 13
Lance Geesey kicked 5 field goals as the Red Flash are 3-1 in the NEC. Khairi Dickson sealed the win with a 2 yard run and the defense made it stand up.
Dickson ran 24 times for 105 yards. Zach Drayer was 21-34 for 220 yards. Najae Brown had the only td for CCSU on a 95 yard kickoff return.
Saint Francis is now 6-3 overall. CCSU falls 4-6 overall and 3-2 in the NEC.
Robert Morris 21 – East Tennessee 9
The Colonials go to 3-6 with the home win. ETSU led 9-7 in the third on the strength of 3 JJ Jerman field goals. Matthew Barr hit Craig Thompson in the second for a 5 yard td.
RMU scored twice in the final 4 minutes for the win. Barr hooked up with Kyle Buss for an 84 yard bomb. The Colonials defense held as Ryan Lewis sacked Austin Herink on a 4th and 19. Cole Blake ran 12 yards for a td and lots of joy in Moon Township.
Barr was 20-31 for 225 yards. Blake ran 18 times for 83 yards. ETSU falls to 1-8
