Ben Blacksmith

Riverview, jr., WR/DB

Blacksmith is one of several on a still-young team with returning experience from a playoff squad. Blacksmith (6-0, 160) should be a valuable target against rival Leechburg.

Kyle Fitzroy

Apollo-Ridge, sr., QB

In the opener against Leechburg, the signal-caller tossed three TDs and accumulated 204 yards through the air in one half. He added a rushing touchdown in the Week Zero triumph. This week, the Deer Lakes defense will hope to slow him down in an Allegheny clash.

Nicholas Gizzo

Fox Chapel, sr., QB/CB

The second-year starting quarterback shined in a losing effort last week against Mt. Lebanon. Gizzo (6-2, 190) threw for 145 yards and a TD and ran for 100 more and a score.

Seth Tatrn

Burrell, sr., QB/LB

What will Tatrn (6-0, 195) do for an encore this week at Hopewell? Last week against Springdale, he threw for 238 yards and four TDs and ran for another score in the Bucs’ 39-12 victory. He will be key this week if Burrell is to go 2-0 for the first time since 2012.
