The Countdown to the Road to Hershey continues with one week before the start of the state high school football playoffs. Final Four Friday is in the books on the Highway to Heinz, but the five other Western Pa districts also are into their gridiron postseason. Jerry Holzhauser has retired as head coach of the Laurel Spartans football team after nine seasons. Holzhauser racked up a 54-35 record over that time, including five playoff berth, including a 2009 trip to the semifinals.Laurel finished 5-4 overall this season and 4-4 in the Big Seven Conference, behind Rochester, Sto-Rox, Neshannock and Union, all four advanced to the WPIAL quarterfinals with Neshannock and Sto-Rox still alive in Friday's Semifinals.Before becoming the head coach, Holzhauser was an assistant to George Miles.
