Blackhawk Cougars Hockey Game Recap for 1/9/14
January 10, 2014
It was Senior night at the Beaver County Ice Arena for the Blackhawk Cougars Hockey team. Seven players were honored before the game. However the Harborcreek Huskies spoiled the festivities with a 6-3 come from behind victory to improve to 12-1 on the season. The Huskies gained revenge from the teams previous encounter at Harborcreek where Blackhawk won 6-3 on November 25th.

Once again this season, MSA Sports is your home for Blackhawk High School hockey. Here is an up close and personal look at the seniors on this 2013-2014 Cougars hockey team. KYLE DOUGLAS SCHAEFER #66 Captain Kyle is the son of Doug and Donna Schaefer and a brother to Owen, Abby & Eli Kyle began skating at 2yrs. of age and began hockey start at 4yrs. old.  Kyle has been playing for the Beaver County Badgers for 14yrs. and Blackhawk Hockey for 7yrs.

It has become a tradition like no other...at least during the holidays here at MSA Sports. It's time to look back at another high school sports year with the top stories from around the WPIAL in 2013. Here is our entire countdown fr0m #25 through #1. #25 - Playoff Drought Ends In a year when the Pittsburgh Pirates ended a long Major League Baseball playoff drought, a long WPIAL football playoff drought also came to an end when in Week 9, the Avella Eagles clinched a WPIAL playoffs berth with a 55-14 thrashing of Bentworth to clinch fourth place in the Class A Tri-County South Conference.

Blackhawk Cougars Hockey Game Recap for 12/19/13
At the Beaver County Ice Arena on Thursday December 19th the Blackhawk Cougars and Beaver Bobcats, two bitter rivals met, and by the end it was another rock em sock em back and forth battle this time won by the Cougars in come from behind fashion 5-4. Both teams came into the game with identical 6-4 records, and the Bobcats had won the previous meeting on November 21st in come from behind fashion by a 6-5 score. Every time these teams play its wild, entertaining, frustrating, and just a great game to watch.

Blackhawk Cougars Hockey Game Recap for 12/12/13
December 14, 2013
At the Beaver County Ice Arena the Blackhawk Cougars improved to 6-3 with an 8-1 victory over the Trinity Hillers. It was all Cougars in the first period. Kyle Schaefer opened up the scoring at the 6:11 mark with a slap shot to make it 1-0. Robbie  Swinderman, and Grant Rombold, would each score and Austin Javens would score twice as Blackhawk would lead 5-0 after 1 period. The Cougars were 1 for 2 on the power play and had 21 shots on goal. Into the second period Hiller goalie Nathan Connelly was replaced in net by Zacchary Kagle and he would only allow one goal in period 2. Rombold would score his second of the game at 5:27 on a wrist shot to make it 6-0. The Cougars would have 25 shots on goal in period two.
