The First Round of the 2011 PIHL Penguin Cup high school hockey playoffs take place Monday, March 7th and Tuesday, March 8th. However, before the pucks drops on the opening round, there was one Preliminary Round contest Sunday night to determine the final team in the Class AAA field. A third seed and a fourth seed bucked the odds and captured Open Class titles. John Marshall won the Nailers Cup while Kiski Area captured a second straight Chiefs Cup in overtime. The stars were not only out at Heinz Field on Sunday, but also at the Rostraver Ice Gardens as the PIHL held its four high school hockey all-star games. Here are recaps from the four battles between the Northeast Conference all-stars and the Southwest Conference all-stars.
