FINAL WPIAL Football Playoff Picture

The 64 teams and their positions out of their respective conferences are now set. Now it is up to the WPIAL football steering committee to seed the 16 teams in each classification. Here are ALL of the final playoff teams and their position through the nine week regular season.

CLASS AAAA Foothills Conference:

McKeesport Tigers (8-0) have clinched CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

Penn-Trafford Warriors (6-2) have clinched Second Place
(Take second based on head-to-head tiebreaker with Gateway)

Gateway Gators (6-2) have clinched Third Place

Hempfield Spartans (5-3) have clinched Fourth Place
(Take fourth based on head-to-head tiebreaker with Kiski Area)

Kiski Area Cavaliers (5-3) have clinched Fifth Place

CLASS AAAA Southeastern Conference:

Upper St. Clair Panthers (8-0) have clinched CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

Woodland Hills Wolverines (7-1) have clinched Second Place

Bethel Park Black Hawks (6-2) have clinched Third Place

Penn Hills Indians (4-4) have clinched Fourth Place
(Take fourth based on head-to-head tiebreaker with Peters Township)

Peters Township Indians (4-4) have clinched Fifth Place

CLASS AAAA Northern Eight Conference:

Pittsburgh Central Catholic Vikings (8-0) have clinched CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

Seneca Valley Raiders (7-1) have clinched Second Place

North Allegheny Tigers (5-2) have clinched Third Place

North Hills Indians (4-3) have clinched Fourth Place

Pine-Richland Rams (3-4) have clinched Fifth Place

CLASS AAAA Wild Card:

Baldwin Highlanders with a 4-5 overall record beat out Altoona Mountain Lions (2-7) and Fox Chapel Foxes (2-7) in the battle of sixth place teams for Class AAAA wild card based on overall record.

CLASS AAAA Third Place Home Field:

Gateway Gators win one of the home field games among third place finishers based on 7-2 overall record.

Bethel Park Black Hawks (6-3) edge out North Allegheny Tigers (6-3) for the second home game based on Gardner Points. Bethel Park had 180 and North Allegheny had 160

CLASS AAA Big Nine Conference:

Thomas Jefferson Jaguars (8-0) have clinched CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

West Mifflin Titans (7-1) have clinched Second Place

Ringgold Rams (6-2) have clinched Third Place

Elizabeth Forward Warriors (5-3) have clinched Fourth Place

Belle Vernon Leopards (4-4) have clinched Fifth Place

CLASS AAA Parkway Conference:

West Allegheny Indians (8-0) have clinched CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

Central Valley Warriors (7-1) have clinched Second Place

New Castle Red Hurricane (6-2) have clinched Third Place

Moon Tigers (5-3) have clinched Fourth Place

Montour Spartans (4-4) have clinched Fifth Place

CLASS AAA Greater Allegheny Conference:

Franklin Regional Panthers (7-1) have clinched CO-CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP and First Place
(Take first place based on head-to-head tiebreaker with Mars)

Mars Planets (7-1) have clinched CO-CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP and Second Place

Highlands Golden Rams (6-2) have clinched Third Place

Indiana Little Indians (4-4) have clinched Fourth Place

Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers (3-5) have clinched Fifth Place
(Take fifth based on head-to-head fourh way tie with Hampton, Knoch and Greensburg-Salem where Hollidaysburg was 3-0)

Hampton Talbots (3-5)
(Take sixth based on 2-0 head-to-head record with Knoch and Greensburg-Salem)

CLASS AAA Wild Card:

Hampton Talbots (3-5) beat out both the Blackhawk Cougars (3-5) and Uniontown Red Raiders (3-5) based on Gardner Points where Hampton was +60, Blackhawk was +30 and Uniontown was +30

CLASS AAA Third Place Home Field:

Highlands Golden Rams (6-2) and Ringgold Rams (6-2) beat out New Castle Red Hurricanes (6-2) for the two third place home games in the opening round of the playoffs based first on Gardner Points: Highlands with 200, Ringgold and New Castle with 150. Then on tiebreaker points with Ringgold +40 and New Castle +29.

CLASS AA Century Conference:

South Fayette Lions (8-0) have clinched CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

Quaker Valley Quakers (7-1) have clinched Second Place

Seton-LaSalle Rebels (6-2) have clinched Third Place

South Park Eagles (5-3) have clinched Fourth Place

CLASS AA Allegheny Conference:

Kittanning Wildcats (8-0) have clinched CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

Shady Side Academy Indians (7-1) have clinched Second Place

Summit Academy Knights (5-3) have clinched third place
(Take third place based on head-to-head tiebreaker over Valley)

Valley Vikings (5-3) have clinched fourth place

CLASS AA Interstate Conference:

Mount Pleasant Vikings (8-0) have clinched CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

Washington Little Prexies (6-2) have clinched Second Place

Yough Cougars (5-3) have clinched Third Place
(Take third based on head-to-head tiebreaker over Greensburg Central Catholic)

Greensburg Central Catholic Centurions (5-3) have clinched Fourth Place

CLASS AA Midwestern Conference:

Aliquippa Quips (7-0) have clinched CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

Beaver Falls Tigers (6-1) have clinched Second Place

New Brighton Lions (5-2) have clinched Third Place

Beaver Bobcats (4-2) have clinched Fourth Place

CLASS A Big 7 Conference:

Sto-Rox Vikings (8-0) have clinched CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

Neshannock Lancers (7-1) have clinched Second Place

Laurel Spartans (6-2) have clinched Third Place

Western Beaver Golden Beavers (5-3) have clinched Fourth Place

CLASS A Eastern Conference:

Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic Trojans (8-0) have clinched CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

Avonworth Antelopes (7-1) have clinched Second Place

Apollo-Ridge Vikings (6-2) have clinched Third Place

West Shamokin Wolves (5-3) have clinched Fourth Place

CLASS A Black Hills Conference:

Monessen Greyhounds (7-1) have clinched TRI-CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP and First Place
(Take first place based on tiebreaker points with +60, Fort Cherry +59 and Clairton +58)

Clairton Bears (7-1) have clinched TRI-CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP and Second Place
(Take second place based on head-to-head tiebreaker over Fort Cherry after Monessen had won first)

Fort Cherry Rangers (7-1) have clinched TRI-CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP and Third Place

Brentwood Spartans (5-3) have clinched Fourth Place

CLASS A Tri-County South Conference:

Beth-Center Bulldogs (8-0) have clinched CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
