Four WPIAL teams fall out of Trib HSSN state softball rankings

There will be no district gold for six teams who were ranked last week in the Trib HSSN state softball rankings.

Some of those teams saw their season come to an end while a few have a second chance in the upcoming PIAA postseason.

Other significant changes included:

There were no changes at the top of each classification as Spring-Ford, Lampeter-Strasburg, Mt. Pleasant, Pine Grove, Saegertown and Nativity BVM remain No. 1.

Four WPIAL teams fell out of the Top 5 — Penn-Trafford, Knoch, Chartiers-Houston and Leechburg, while Laurel joins the elite in Class 2A.

Here is the latest PIAA Top 5 in each of the six classifications through Friday, May 24.
