Franklin Regional wrestling will be well-represented at the WPIAL Class AAA championships this weekend.

Eight Panthers finished in the top five at the Section 1 tournament at Kiski Area last Saturday to qualify.

The group will be led by junior Colton Camacho, who finished first at 132 pounds after defeating Penn-Trafford's Nick Coy, 5-2, in the finals. Camacho (33-2) finished third last year at the WPIAL championships.

Franklin Regional's Carter Dibert (106 pounds) and Zach McCann (126) finished second in the section. Taking third were Garrett Thompson (113), Nate Smith (138) and James O'Neil (152). Mario Sarnic (120) and Mason Spears (145) each earned fifth.

The WPIAL championships will be held Friday and Saturday at Canon-McMillan High School.
