Franklin Regional senior wrestler Zach McCann made a verbal commitment to American University on Wednesday.

“It’s a good choice, a good school for Zach and I’m sure he’ll do well,” FR coach Matt Lebe said.

McCann was 32-12 at 132 pounds last season and finished second in the Section 1-AAA tournament.

He has a 67-34 career record.

Seneca Valley wrestler Nick Montalbano also committed to American on Wednesday.

Former North Allegheny standout wrestler Teague Moore is the head coach at American.

North Hills grad Gage Curry and NA grad Eric Hong are on the team’s current roster.
