Chloe Hart scored the winning goal to lead West Allegheny to a 1-0 victory over Chartiers Valley (4-8, 2-7), clinching a playoff spot in Section 4-3A girls soccer Monday. Kennedi Colinear had an assist and Ally Frueh and Alicia Alwine combined on the shutout for West A (10-6, 6-5).

Beaver 10, Ambridge 0 – Lilia Battalini scored four goals, Ana Hahn had a hat trick and Sydney Chontos had a goal and four assists as Beaver (6-4-1, 4-4-1) blanked Ambridge (3-10, 2-9) in Section 1-2A. Gracie Turyan made three saves for the shutout.

Belle Vernon 4, Ringgold 1 – Kataira Rhodes, Kelsey Roskovich, Grace West and Chessa Mertz scored to lead Belle Vernon (6-8-1, 5-6-1) to a Section 2-3A win over Ringgold (5-9-2, 4-7-1).

Butler 3, Shaler 1 – Leah Deal, Leah Weiland and Cecelia Wolford scored and Delaney Yaracs stopped a penalty as Butler (9-6, 7-5) beat Shaler (5-9, 3-9) in Section 1-4A.

Charleroi 3, Waynesburg 2 – Bella Carroto scored the tying goal in the final minute of regulation and McKenna DeUnger netted the overtime winner as Charleroi (12-1, 9-1) topped Waynesburg (10-4, 7-4) in a matchup of top teams in Section 2-A. Taylor Ramsdell also scored for the Cougars. Rylie Rostoka and Ella Miller scored for the Raiders.

Deer Lakes 4, Apollo-Ridge 0 – Claire Cacurak scored two goals and Kylie McCoy and Abby Kushon each added a goal as Deer Lakes (7-6-2, 4-4) beat Apollo-Ridge (2-8, 2-7) in Section 2-2A. Brooke Kostyak recorded the shutout for the Lancers.

Elizabeth Forward 4, Laurel Highlands 0 – Brooklyn Baldensperger, Mia Valerio, Giovanna Ferraro and Caylin Seabol scored and Samantha Malek recorded the shutout as Elizabeth Forward (11-2, 10-1) topped Laurel Highlands (7-7, 6-6) in Section 2-3A.

Freeport 10, Valley 0 – Camryn Woods and Lizzy Parsi each scored a pair of goals as Freeport (10-1-1, 7-1-1) rolled to a Section 2-2A win over Valley (1-9-1, 0-8-0). Alyssa Acorn preserved the shutout for the Yellowjackets.

Greensburg Central Catholic 10, Serra Catholic 1 – Riley Kerr scored six goals and Jianna Patterson added a pair as Greensburg Central Catholic (7-1, 7-1) defeated Serra Catholic (4-6, 3-6) in Section 1-A.

Hampton 3, Gateway 0 – Sara Kenst, Kendall Hoolahan and Gigi Rudy scored as Hampton (11-4, 9-2) shut out Gateway (4-8-1, 3-8) in nonsection play.

Keystone Oaks 2, McGuffey 2 – Becca Simon scored twice for Keystone Oaks (9-5-1, 5-3-1) in a draw with McGuffey (3-7-1, 2-6-1) in Section 4-2A.

Kiski Area 0, Oakland Catholic 0 – Ashley Dudzik recorded the shutout for Kiski Area (7-7-2, 5-3-2) and Nica Folino kept a clean sheet for Oakland Catholic (5-5-2, 5-3-2) in a Section 1-3A scoreless draw.

Mars 5, Indiana 0 – Rosie Pellegrino had a hat trick and Addi Girdwood posted a goal and three assists as Mars (12-0, 10-0) beat Indiana (3-10, 2-8) in Section 1-3A. Brooke Nihoff also scored and Kate McEnroe and Lily Goodworth combined on the shutout.

Montour 4, Trinity 0 – Mia Cyanovich, Sarah Meldon, Marlo Cyanovich and Annabelle Titus scored for Montour (10-2-3, 7-2-1) in a Section 4-3A win against Trinity (0-11, 0-9).

Mt. Lebanon 1, Peters Township 1 – Serena Kavalir scored for fourth-place Mt. Lebanon (8-5-2, 6-4-2) and Mandy Pirosko scored for first-place Peters Township (12-0-2, 10-0-2) in a Section 2-4A draw.

Mt. Pleasant 15, Yough 0 – Maggie Piper had a hat trick and Rylin Bugosh and Maddie Barrick each scored twice for Mt. Pleasant (13-2, 9-0) in a Section 3-2A win over Yough (5-12, 4-5).

North Catholic 7, Hopewell 0 – Kenzie DeBlassio had a hat trick and Simone Sharpless scored twice to lead North Catholic (11-2, 9-1) past Hopewell (0-13, 0-11) in Section 1-2A play. Carli Rivetti dished out three assists and Rylee Kumer and Sami Smallwood combined on the shutout.

Norwin 4, Baldwin 1 – Elin Bash had a goal and an assist and Evelyn Moore, Nicole Bown and Ava Acalotto also scored for Norwin (4-10, 4-7) in a Section 2-4A win over Baldwin (5-11, 1-11).

Penn-Trafford 6, Greensburg Salem 0 – Emilie Oslosky had a hat trick, Emma Stovar, Eilish Connolly and Aurelia Solomon also scored and Hanna Weishaar and Chloe Walton each had two assists for Penn-Trafford (11-4, 6-4) in a Section 3-3A win over Greensburg Salem (2-12-1, 1-10). Rease Solomon recorded the shutout.

Pine-Richland 3, Allderdice 0 – Abby Rosenwasser scored twice and Carly Hoover added a goal for Pine-Richland (5-8, 5-6) in a Section 1-4A victory over Allderdice (4-9, 3-9).

Plum 7, Penn Hills 0 – Gia Babilon and Mia Nardo each had a pair of goals to help Plum (13-0-1, 10-0) past Penn Hills (3-10, 1-10) in Section 3-3A. Ava Weleski, Allison Porter and Gianna Revetta also scored.

Riverview 11, Jeannette 0 – Lola Abraham scored four goals, Mary Quinlan scored two goals and had three assists, and Cailey Trosch buried a pair of goals as Riverview (12-1-, 9-1) blanked Jeannette (1-11-1, 0-10) in Section 1-A.

Seneca Valley 12, North Hills 0 – Ashlee Libby recorded a hat trick and Ayla Ward scored twice for Seneca Valley (12-1-1, 10-1-1) in a Section 1-4A defeat of North Hills (0-14, 0-12).

Seton LaSalle 11, Brashear 0 – Angelina McGrath had a hat trick, Catie Kozel and Riley Haizlip each scored twice and Regan Mazur recorded the shutout for Seton LaSalle (6-7) in a nonsection victory.

South Fayette 1, Moon 1 — Mia Deramo scored for South Fayette (8-4-2, 7-2-1) in a draw with Moon (10-1-2, 7-1-2) in a matchup of top teams in Section 4-3A.

Southmoreland 10, East Allegheny 0 – Lizzy Boone scored a pair of goals as Southmoreland (9-3, 8-1) blanked East Allegheny (2-9, 1-8) in Section 3-2A.

South Park 14, Brownsville 0 – Taylor Vargo had a hat trick and Mady Serechin scored twice as South Park (11-3, 9-0) defeated Brownsville (0-15, 0-9) in Section 4-2A.

Springdale 8, Steel Valley 0 – Briana Ross scored five goals and Ariana Feizi added a goal and two assists for Springdale (10-1, 8-1) in a Section 1-A win over Steel Valley (2-13, 2-7). Lacey Shondeck had a goal and an assist and Brooke Taliani also scored.

Thomas Jefferson 11, Albert Gallatin 0 – Sami Maglicco had a hat trick and Natalie Lamenza and Aislin Majoris scored twice to lead Thomas Jefferson (12-1, 11-0) past Albert Gallatin (1-14, 0-12) in Section 2-3A.

Upper St. Clair 4, Bethel Park 0 – Sierra Dupre scored a hat trick, Maeryn Mannix added a goal and Cam Friday had a shutout as Upper St. Clair (13-1, 11-1) beat Bethel Park (7-6-1, 6-6) in Section 2-4A.

Woodland Hills 10, Ligonier Valley 0 — Emma Reyes scored five goals to lead Woodland Hills (6-6, 5-4) to a shutout victory over Ligonier Valley (0-15, 0-9) in Section 3-2A.

Boys soccer

North Catholic 6, Highlands 1 – Justin Garvey and Jack Spirnak each had a goal and an assist and Angelo Amelio, Nathan Salac, Brody Kennedy and Gabe Nonino also scored as North Catholic (7-6, 6-3) beat Highlands (3-11, 1-10) in Section 1-3A.

Serra Catholic 5, California 0 – Collin Holmes and AJ Mejalli had two goals apiece and Brady Vrcic also scored as Serra Catholic (11-2) blanked California (3-9) in a nonsection match. Caden Bauer and Luke Perez each added two assists and Tony Fisher made eight saves to earn the shutout.

Winchester Thurston 3, Trinity Christian 1 – Tomer Tuti recorded a hat trick to lead Winchester Thurston (8-3-2, 7-3) to a Section 3-A victory against Trinity Christian (7-5, 5-5).

Field hockey

Peters Township 8, Allderdice 0 – Ava Zimmer, Makayla Ferris, Isabella Elm, Sophia Bergman, Cecilia Reyes, Eliza Muehlbauer, Grace Urban and Anna Kokoszynski scored as Peters Township shut out Allderdice in Section 3A.

Pine-Richland 5, Fox Chapel 0 – Jessica Albertson scored twice and Georgia Rottinghaus collected a goal and two assists to lead Pine-Richland to a nonsection victory.

Girls volleyball

Hempfield 3, Bethel Park 2 – Ashley Hosni had 23 kills and 21 digs, Sarah Podkul had 31 digs and Zoey Hopkins had 31 assists and 17 digs as Hempfield (6-7) beat Bethel Park (2-9) in nonsection play. Peslee Horchak had 22 assists, Claire Mitchell had eight kills and Mia Shipman had seven kills for the Spartans.

Ligonier Valley 3, United 2 – Abby Tutino had 14 kills and Lacy Sosko added eight kills and three blocks to lead Ligonier Valley (4-10) to a nonsection win. Kya Hegan had 14 assists and Emily Rankin had 17 service points.

Mapletown 3, Charleroi 1 – Miranda Wise had nine kills and seven blocks, Bri Ashton had 17 digs and three aces and Bailey Rafferty had seven digs, 21 assists and two aces as Mapletown (9-4) beat Charleroi (7-8) in nonsection play.

Hockey

Bishop McCort 4, North Hills 1 – Nikita Kolomejtsev scored a hat trick and Nar-Ulan Baiken added a goal to lead Bishop McCort (1-0) to a Class 2A win over North Hills (0-2). Joey Spivak scored for North Hills.

Butler 11, Montour 1 – Owen Denny had four goals and an assist to lead Butler (1-0) in Class A. Jase Renwick had two goals and an assist and Brayden Hardsock and Carson Bish each added a goal and two assists. Jonah Camardese Woodruff scored for Montour (0-2).

Knoch 6, Connellsville 4 – Synjun McHattie scored twice to help Knoch (1-1) defeat Connellsville (0-2) in Varsity D2. Nick Olshanski and Brady Linamen added a goal and an assist each for the Knights. Ian Zerecheck had a hat trick for the Falcons.

Moon 4, Richland 1 – Noah Driscoll scored two goals and Jordan Rieke and Brody Eckert each added a goal for Moon (1-0) in a Class A win over Richland (0-1). Mitch Timchik scored for the Rams.

North Catholic 6, West Allegheny 1 – Ryan Berry had two goals and two assists and John Britt also scored twice for North Catholic (1-0) in a Class A win. Max Smith scored for West Allegheny (0-2).

Norwin 7, Fox Chapel 4 – Alex Thomas and Dom Cerilli each had a five-point night with three goals and two assists to power Norwin (1-0-1) to a Class 2A win. Killian Kissane scored for Fox Chapel (2-1).

Quaker Valley 3, Meadville 2 – Jace Vasbinder had a goal and an assist and Ben McHenry and Luke Koehler also scored for Quaker Valley (1-0) in a Class A win. Preston Phillis and Robert Mahoney scored for Meadville (1-1).

Thomas Jefferson 6, Franklin Regional 1 – Andrew Oliver scored twice while Connor McCann, Gavin Salopek, Ryder McGuirk and Jake Stock each tallied a goal as Thomas Jefferson (2-0) beat Franklin Regional (0-2) in Class 2A. Max Rutkowski scored for the Panthers.

Girls tennis

Bethel Park 5, Norwin 0 – Top-seeded Bethel Park didn’t drop a game in a first-round match. Cami Fisher, Lily Sierka and Katie Peterson won singles matches and the teams of Emma Smith and Mackenzie Smock and Cassie Sierka and Keira Ross won at doubles. The Black Hawks will face No. 9 Upper St. Clair in Wednesday’s semifinals.

Upper St. Clair 4, Penn-Trafford 1 – Maya Hamada won a closely contested three-set match at No. 2 singles to lead No. 9 Upper St. Clair to a first-round victory. Leela Kulkarni won at No. 3 singles and the teams of Reilly Caslin and Izzy Zhang and Anna Engelman and Hannah Del swept doubles. Mia Williams won in straight sets at No. 1 singles for the No. 8 Warriors.

Fox Chapel 4, Oakland Catholic 1 – Sienna Siegel and Meg Delaney won singles matches to lead No. 5 Fox Chapel to a first-round win in the WPIAL Class 3A team playoffs. The Fox Chapel teams of Maria Marasco and Sophie Carvelli and Eloise Johnson and Lucy Larsen swept in doubles. Abby Santora won at No. 2 singles for No. 12 Oakland Catholic. Fox Chapel will meet No. 4 Shady Side Academy in Wednesday’s quarterfinals. SSA defeated No. 13 Latrobe, 5-0, in the first round.

Franklin Regional 4, Moon 1 – Ellen Liu, Michelle Yan and Rachel Poltinnikov won singles matches in straight sets to lead No. 6 Franklin Regional to a first-round victory. The FR No.1 doubles team of Lucy Zheng and Makinzie Marcus won a three-set match. Evie Wise and Nithya Kaarthi won at No. 2 doubles for No. 11 Moon. The Panthers will take on No. 3 Mt. Lebanon in Wednesday’s semifinals. The Blue Devils topped No. 14 Seneca Valley, 5-0, in the first round.

North Allegheny 5, Baldwin 0 – The No. 2 Tigers dropped a total of three games en route to a sweep of No. 15 Baldwin. Sara Fernandez, Laeticia Wessel and Audrey Zheng won singles matches and Tia Soussou and Siya Jain and Rebecca Murphy and Kaitlyn Zeman swept doubles. North Allegheny will meet No. 7 Pine-Richland in Wednesday’s semifinals. The Rams defeated No. 10 Peters Township, 4-1.
