Mohawk advances to PIAA Class 2A softball final

Kaylee Boring went 3 for 3 with an RBI and Alyssa Young and Courtney Upham also knocked in runs to lead Mohawk to a 3-1 victory over District 6 champion Mt. Union (21-2) in the PIAA Class 2A softball semifinals Monday afternoon at DuBois City Park.

Trinity Voss threw a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts, and Young went 2 for 3 with a triple for the Warriors (18-2), who will play District 3 champion Upper Dauphin (16-8) in the PIAA championship game at 11 a.m. Friday at Nittany Lion Softball Park.

Mohawk was the WPIAL's fourth-place team.
