Despite playing four games in four days, the Mt. Lebanon softball team registered its third win of the season 3-1 against rival Upper St. Clair in a Section 1-6A game Friday.

The Section 1-6A matchup started and ended slowly, with most of the scoring transpiring in the third inning. Upper St. Clair (2-4, 1-3) took a 1-0 lead in the second when a run scored on a sacrifice bunt.

But Mt. Lebanon (3-2, 3-2) answered in the third. Senior Megan Dietrick hit a two-run double to give Mt. Lebanon a one-run advantage.

The story of the game was the stellar pitching performance by Mt. Lebanon senior Catie Rogan. She threw a complete game, striking out 11 and allowing one run on three hits.

Mt. Lebanon coach Casey Phillips said Rogan pitched the last four games and will be in the circle again Saturday when the Blue Devils head to Bethel Park.
