CTK ’14: WPIAL AA Interstate Conference Preview
August 18, 2014
The WPIAL’s Interstate has changed. There are no longer exits for Jeannette and Greensburg. Jeannette and Greensburg Central Catholic both dropped from Class AA to A this season and both teams played in the Interstate Conference last year. One other team is out of the Interstate this year as Yough moved up to Class AAA. The two new teams in the Interstate are Burgettstown and McGuffey, who both played in the Century Conference a year ago. Scholastic Notebook – 01/10/2014
January 10, 2014
No matter what time of year it is at Western Beaver High School, it always seems to be Miller Time. Miller is a senior at Western Beaver. But as far as production goes in three sports, you’d be hard-pressed to find a WPIAL athlete who is better than Miller. Western Beaver was a .500 team in football, but Miller was their leading receiver for the second year in a row.

CTK 2013 – WPIAL Triple-A Greater Allegheny Conference Preview
August 17, 2013
Will the Greater Allegheny be as defensive again? Last year was the first season of the “new” Greater Allegheny, where nine teams were in the conference, including a few that used to play in the old Keystone Conference. Although the conference featured some standout offensive players, it seemed defense was the cornerstone of a number of teams. Mars, Franklin Regional and Knoch gave up less than 100 points in conference games. No other conference in Class AAA had three teams give up less than 100 points in conference games.Points could be hard to come by again in 2013. The main reason is some teams lost some key offensive players (except Mars).
