The three 2011 WPIAL Girls Volleyball Championships Saturday at Franklin Regional High School ranged from good, to better, to outstanding as Elderton, Hopewell and Seneca Valley captured district gold. The WPIAL football playoffs start Friday night and never before has the postseason picture looked so perfect.Although the WPIAL started crowning football champions in 1914, the league didn’t have playoff games until 1971. Six matches to decide six teams that will serve for district gold on Saturday. Some of the matches were over rather quickly...convincing three game victories.
