A familiar name to pro football fans in Western Pennsylvania has been named the new head coach at a WPIAL Class AAAA school. Monday night, former Pittsburgh Steelers player Eric Ravotti was hired by the Fox Chapel School Board to be the Foxes new football coach.

Ravotti played linebackers for three years for the Steelers from 1994 through 1996. He is a graduate of Freeport High School and Penn State University.

As far as coaching, Ravotti has been an assistant coach for Freeport and has been a coach for the Pine-Richland Youth Football Program.

Ravotti replaces Bryan Deal, who resigned following this past season after six seasons as coach of the Foxes. Fox Chapel finished in sixth place in the seven-team Class AAAA Big East Conference this past fall with a 1-5 record and an overall mark of 1-8.
