It's championship time, so that means it's MSA Sports blog time! Sure, we are the only place to listen to all three PIHL Penguins Cup Championship Games live (and archived), but if you don't have the time and want a quick update on the happenings of the high school hockey finals all day long from the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh.

CLASS AAA CHAMPIONSHIP: #5 Peters Township Indians vs. #6 Bethel Park Blackhawks

Bethel Park now has 7 Penguins Cup Championships, the 2nd most out of any PIHL team (Meadville).

FINAL SCORE: Bethel Park 2, Peters Township 1.

Empty net for Peters Township! 52 seconds to go.

GOAL! With just 1:56 to go, Zach Volzer's shot from the point redirects off a Peters player and goes in, making it 2-1 Bethel Park.

A couple of penalties each way, but still no scoring. Remains a 1-1 game. 8 minutes to go.

Third period is underway. Peters Township is looking for their 5th Penguins Cup. Bethel Park is looking for their 7th.

Pretty much what we expected from these two teams. This game has been tight checking, defensive and physical hockey. Really entertaining to watch.

AFTER 2: Peters Township 1, Bethel Park 1.

Interesting note: The last time these two teams won a Penguins Cup title… was the same year. Peters Township (AA) and Bethel Park (AAA) won Championships in the respective classifications.

?After a scoreless first period, both teams have exchanged goals, as Derek Lesnak scored for Bethel Park and Trevor Recktenwald scored for Peters Township. Both were Power Play goals.
