Two games in each classification made for a busy night as the high school playoffs turned into the second round. As has been the case this entire postseason, the higher seeds prevailed in all six contest. A ho-hum first night of Round One of the high school hockey postseason gave way to a pair of Class AAA dandies. While the puck was dropped to start the 2013 PIHL Penguins Cup Playoffs, the PIHL Open Class season came to an end with a battle between the Nailers Cup champion and the Chiefs Cup winner. Two champions have been crowned in the PIHL high school hockey Open Class Playoffs Thursday night. Wheeling Park laid claim to the 2013 Nailer Cup title with a victory over Morgantown while Ford City defeated Indiana to win the Chiefs Cup championship.
