The MSA Sports Cup is a challenge to determine the best sports program for the school year from the WPIAL in each classification. They didn't win a district championship this year but they are now wearing state gold. The Valley Vikings captured their first ever PIAA softball title by edging Manheim Central Friday in the Class AAA Finals at Penn State University. Two WPIAL teams have broken the state baseball title drought. After two years of nothing but silver both Riverside and Serra Catholic were golden in the PIAA finals. The Serra Catholic Eagles claimed their first PIAA baseball championship by defeating the Reading Central Catholic Cardinals 4-0 at Medlar Park on Friday afternoon. Junior pitcher Alain Girman allowed just three hits and six base runners including just two over the four innings.
