Fox Chapel and Central Valley Win First Ever WPIAL Girls Team Golf D-I and D-II Titles

It was a historic day for WPIAL girl's golf Thursday at the Cedarbrook Golf Club in Belle Vernon. A bit of surprise was supposed to be in store for high school football fans with THREE games on this first night of Week Three. However Mother Nature forced the postponement of one of the WPIAL games, thus the schedule shrunk back to the normal one WPIAL and one Pittsburgh City League game. Mount Lebanon, Mars and Greensburg Central Catholic were crowned 2009 WPIAL champions in boys soccer. Mars repeated as WPIAL Class AA champs while Greensburg Central Catholic captured their third district boys soccer title and first in five years and Mount Lebanon ended up on top of the Class AAA boys soccer world with a tenth WPIAL title and first since 2002.
