Whether a fan of the local district team or you like to know what’s going on in girls high school basketball around Pennsylvania, the TribLive High School Sports Network has you covered this winter.

We rank the top WPIAL teams in each class every Sunday and follow up with PIAA rankings every Monday during the high school basketball season.

The first ranking of 2019 includes five teams exiting and five new teams coming in at either the No. 4 or No. 5 spot.

There was no movement at the top spot in any of the six classifications as North Allegheny, Chartiers Valley, Lancaster Catholic. Neumann-Goretti, Bellwood-Antis and Jenkintown started the new year as they finished 2018, on top in their classification.

Six WPIAL teams remain in the Fab Five with one change as Beaver fell out of the Class 3A rankings while Peters Township cracks the Class 6A top five.
