Top-ranked Aliquippa scored 54 points in the first half on way to its 60-9 Class 3A Tri-County West win against Waynesburg (1-1, 0-1) on Friday night.
Antonio Quinn ran five times for 115 yards and two touchdowns. The Quips (2-0, 1-0) scored on three returns — a 75-yard punt return by Vernon Redd, a 28-yard fumble return by Karl McBride and a 59-yard interception return by Isaiah Tower.
Yough 25, Uniontown 0 — In the Big East Conference, Gamal Marballie threw for 106 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 122 yards and another TD as Yough (1-1, 1-0) blanked Uniontown (0-2, 0-1).
Beaver Falls 34, South Park 7 — In Tri-County West play, Chasae Thorton threw for 150 yards and two touchdowns as Beaver Falls (2-0, 1-0) defeated South Park (0-1, 0-1). Josh Hough and Shileak Livingston scored two touchdowns each.
Mt. Pleasant 48, Hopewell 34 — Mt. Pleasant’s Jake Johnson rushed for 124 yards and three touchdowns and caught a 26-yard scoring pass from Asher O’Connor as Mt. Pleasant (1-1) won a nonconference game.
Jay’Von Jeter threw for 203 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 203 yards and three TDs for Hopewell (0-2). Nick Loughner added 114 rushing yards and a touchdown in the win.
