WPIAL Boys and Girls Basketball Realignment for 2013 and 2014

The WPIAL Board of Control Tuesday approved the new basketball alignments for both the boys and girls for the 2012-13 and 2013-14 high school winter sports seasons. Here is the new section break down in each classification for both the boys and the girls.

WPIAL schools moving up in class for the next two seasons are New Castle boys, Hampton boys, Trinity boys, Freeport boys, Ellwood City boys, Steel Valley boys, Elderton boys, Bentworth boys, Laurel Highlands girls, Chartiers Valley girls, Southmoreland girls, Brownsville girls, Waynesburg girls, Keystone Oaks girls, Quaker Valley girls, Riverview girls, Chartiers-Houston girls and Fort Cherry girls.

WPIAL schools moving down in class for the next two seasons are Laurel Highlands boys, Chartiers Valley boys, Burrell boys, Deer Lakes boys, Washington boys, Monessen boys, Wilkinsburg boys, Moon girls and Beaver girls. 

Italicized schools are teams that moved from the current cycle.
