WPIAL Girls Basketball Postseason Clinchings and Playoff Picture

The WPIAL girls basketball playoff field is all set with 82 teams having clinched postseason berths and preparing for the 'Battle to the Bluff'. Here are ALL of the final playoff clinchings in all four classifications as we prepare for the WPIAL Girls Basketball Playoffs starting next week.

CLASS AAAA – Set With 17 Playoff Teams

CLASS AAAA SECTION 1:

Penn-Trafford (11-1), Hempfield, (10-2), Kiski Area (8-4) and Norwin (7-5) have all clinched playoff spots.

CLASS AAAA SECTION 2:

Gateway (12-0), Plum (8-4), Woodland Hills (8-4) and Franklin Regional (7-5) have all clinched playoff spots.

CLASS AAAA SECTION 3:

Oakland Catholic (12-0), North Allegheny (8-4), Pine-Richland (8-4) and Shaler (6-6) have all clinched playoff spots. 

CLASS AAAA SECTION 4:

Mount Lebanon (12-0), Baldwin (9-3), Bethel Park (8-4), Peters Township (5-7) and Upper St. Clair (5-7) have all clinched playoff spots.

CLASS AAA – Set With 21 Playoff Teams

CLASS AAA SECTION 1:

Hampton (9-1), Mars (9-1) Kittanning (5-5) and Knoch (5-5) have all clinched playoff spots.

CLASS AAA SECTION 2:

Hopewell (10-2), Blackhawk (10-2), New Castle (8-4), Beaver (6-6) and Central Valley (6-6) have all clinched playoff spots.

CLASS AAA SECTION 3:

Uniontown (11-1), Mount Pleasant (10-2), Greensburg-Salem (7-5) and Indiana (7-5) have all clinched playoff spots.

CLASS AAA SECTION 4:

South Park (10-0), Elizabeth Forward (7-3), West Mifflin (7-3) and Belle Vernon (3-7) have all clinched playoff spots.

CLASS AAA SECTION 5:

Chartiers Valley (10-0), South Fayette (8-2), Montour (6-4) and Trinity (3-7) have all clinched playoff spots.

CLASS AA – Set With 26 Playoff Teams

CLASS AA SECTION 1:

Deer Lakes (13-1), Burrell (11-3) , Ford City (10-4), Elderton (7-7) and Freeport (7-7) have all clinched playoff spots.

CLASS AA SECTION 2:

Riverside (10-2), Beaver Falls (8-3), Mohawk (8-4) and New Brighton (7-5) have all clinched playoff spots.

CLASS AA SECTION 3:

Jeannette (11-1), Greensburg Central Catholic (10-2), Shady Side Academy (7-5), Springdale (6-6) and Wilkinsburg (6-6) have all clinched playoff spots. 

CLASS AA SECTION 4:

Bentworth (10-2), Beth-Center (9-3), Washington (9-3) and Charleroi (8-4) have all clinched playoff spots.

CLASS AA SECTION 5:

Seton-LaSalle (12-0), Bishop Canevin (10-2), Keystone Oaks (7-5) and Steel Valley (7-5) have all clinched playoff spots.

CLASS AA SECTION 6:

Quaker Valley (11-1), Avonworth (10-2), Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (7-5) and South Side Beaver (6-6) have all clinched playoff spots. 

CLASS A – 17 of a Possible 18 Teams Have Clinched

CLASS A SECTION 1:

Quigley (12-0), Cornell (7-5), Rochester (7-5), Aliquippa (6-6) have all clinched playoff spots. Union (6-6) is eliminated since they lost twice to Aliquippa. 

CLASS A SECTION 2:

North Catholic (11-1), Vincentian Academy (11-1), Riverview (7-5) and St. Joseph (7-5) have all clinched playoff spots.

CLASS A SECTION 3:

Fort Cherry (12-0), Chartiers-Houston (10-2), Carmichaels (8-4), Avella (5-7) and West Greene (5-7) have all clinched playoff spots. 

CLASS A SECTION 4:

Monessen (12-0), Serra Catholic (10-2), Winchester Thurston (8-4), Clairton (5-7) and Frazier (5-7) have all clinched playoff spots.
