They didn't win a district championship this year but they are now wearing state gold. The Valley Vikings captured their first ever PIAA softball title by edging Manheim Central Friday in the Class AAA Finals at Penn State University. The 2011 WPIAL Softball Playoff field is set with 13 teams in Class AAAA, 15 in both Class AAA and Class AA and 16 in Class A. The brackets will be unveiled by the WPIAL on Thursday with the playoffs set to start next week.
