North Allegheny and South Park Duo’s Win 2010 WPIAL Girls Tennis Doubles Titles

One champion was expected, coming into the district doubles postseason as the top-seed. The other dynamic duo surprised the field, winning gold as the 11th-seed. The 2010 WPIAL Girls High School Tennis Singles Championships were held Friday afternoon at Pine-Richland High School with bright beautiful sunshine and a strong blustery wind. Last fall, Ronit Yurovsky of Plum and Tanya Timko of Chartiers-Houston captured WPIAL Girls Singles Tennis titles while Olivia Heim and Taylor Perz of Pine-Richland and Susie Soltis and Madeline Leo of Greensburg Central Catholic captured WPIAL Girls Doubles Tennis Gold. In Girls Team Tennis, Peters Township and Sewickley Academy were crowned WPIAL champions in 2009.
