In the third quarter of the Upper St. Clair-Mt. Lebanon game Tuesday night, some of the lights went out at Mt. Lebanon. After play was stopped, the gym went dark for a few moments before the lights were restored and play resumed.

Fifteen years ago, Danny Holzer led Upper St. Clair to the WPIAL Class AAAA boys basketball championship. The following year, in 2006, Joey David guided Mt. Lebanon to a district Quad-A title.

The 2018-19 season was a struggle for perennial girls basketball power Mt. Lebanon. While section rival Peters Township was perfect, the Blue Devils finished 12-11 and lost to Norwin in the opening round of the playoffs.
