What better way to celebrate championships and the start of a new year then with a parade. It has been another great year in high school sports. All of us here at the MSA Sports Network and Management Science Associates thank our sponsors and fans for their support during 2013. It has become a tradition like no other...at least during the holidays here at MSA Sports. It's time to look back at another high school sports year with the top stories from around the WPIAL in 2013. We continue our countdown with the five stories that ended up #10 through #6. #10 - Sto-Rox Cuts Spring Sports School district budget cuts led to Sto-Rox High School dropping its baseball and softball programs in late June. While the district is looking for a co-op with another school district for both programs, returning baseball and softball players can either move to another district, attend a private school or just not play this upcoming spring.This Week on the MSA Sports Network – 12/30/2013

Well the weather outside is frightful, but the broadcast schedule for the final week of the high school football season is quite delightful this week here on the MSA Sports Network. The two wrestling dynasties in the WPIAL continued along their golden way a year ago when Canon-McMillan in Class AAA and Burrell in Class AA won district team titles, later matched by a team state championship for the Big Macs. The WPIAL was well represented this past weekend at the Super 32 Challenge held at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, NC. The event, widely regarded as the nation’s top pre-season high school wrestling tournament, filled the 14 varsity weight brackets with over 1,500 wrestlers from across the United States. Showing why they are from one of the sport’s toughest regions, WPIAL wrestlers earned five gold medals and four silvers. We celebrated America's Birthday earlier this month with various parades and fireworks. You'll forgive us if we celebrate the 2012-2013 school year with just a parade and no pyrotechnics. It was been another great high school sports year in District 7 of the PIAA. Another great year is in the books for the 2012-2013 high school wrestling season. The WPIAL provided a lot of excitement throughout the year, but it was Canon-McMillan in Class AAA and Burrell in AA that continued to rewrite history. Canon-McMillan not only won its record fourth consecutive WPIAL Class AAA team championship, but the Big Macs also won their second straight PIAA dual meet team championship and third straight PIAA individual tournament team championship. Burrell, meanwhile, continued its dominance of Class AA, with a record seventh straight WPIAL dual meet team championship.This Week on the MSA Sports Network – 03/11/2013

After two days of the AAA PIAA tournament, the WPIAL was on fire. They had 23 wrestlers in the semi-finals and 31 of 42 wrestlers guaranteed to bring home a medal from Hershey.The semi-finals Saturday morning did not go as well compared to the first two days of action, with only 10 of 23 WPIAL wrestlers advancing to the finals. But the WPIAL did set themselves up for an impressive night.Of the 10 wrestlers in the finals, six would be wrestling head to head at 120, 126, and 195. At 120 pounds, sophomore Sam Krivus of Hempfield beat junior Dalton Macri of Canon McMillan 3-1 in a match that did not take place at Norwin last week. It was the first PIAA Championship for Krivus, who finished 3rd last year as a freshman.
