Sean Simmons began his tenure as director of athletics at Pine-Richland on Nov. 14. Prior to his hiring at Pine-Richland, Simmons served as the assistant athletic director of student services and sports operations at Robert Morris, a position he held since 2004.Plum sends 5 bowlers to regional championships

Ellie Schwartzman, a sophomore on the Fox Chapel girls basketball team, helped the team’s turnaround this season as she averaged 9 points and 8 rebounds. She’s been playing basketball since first grade and is also on the volleyball team.

Wednesday morning’s winter weather forced Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Bowling League officials to postpone the boys singles championship tournament to next Wednesday at 3 p.m. The event will remain at Wildlife Lanes in Lower Burrell.
